What we look at
- Value for money — pricing, plans, fees and what you get for them.
- Quality — specs, materials and features, checked against the manufacturer’s own documentation.
- Support & warranty — shipping, returns, warranty terms and how easy it is to reach support.
- Owner satisfaction — recurring praise and complaints in verified customer reviews, BBB and Trustpilot.
- Ease of use — how simple the product, website or software is for a first-time buyer.
Research-based vs hands-on reviews
Most of our reviews are research-based: we have not tested the product ourselves and we say so at the top of the review. When we have used a product hands-on, the review is labelled as hands-on.
Scores
Where a review shows a score, it is our editors’ overall rating out of 5 across the criteria above. Reviews without a score have not been scored yet.
